Anyone out there going to Sun N’ Fun? I will be there and am planning to stalk the RV tent as well as Garmin and anyone selling tools. I should be easy to recognize. I will be the one wearing a Stout Aircraft Builders hat, giggling with pure glee at all the sheet metal, and lugging any tool I don’t already have that has a discount.

I am having a bit of a hard time explaining to most of my lawyer friends why I would rather spend vacation time walking miles and miles through booths of stuff rather than sitting in a beach in Cabo sipping fruity drinks with umbrellas in them. First, I burn, so there’s not much fun in that for me. Thanks, pasty Northern European heritage. But really, who wouldn’t want to spend a few days geeking out to all the airplanes and pilots and tools and toys? I have to question the sanity of anyone who wouldn’t find that exciting.

So if you are there, I will be camping out under the wing of N39FC (my father’s Cessna 185) and dreaming of the day when I get to fly my own plane into Lakeland.
