The waiting is the hardest part

I have ordered two of the four parts of this kit – empennage and wings. The empennage has about a 6 month lead time. The wings, a year. But I want it now! Oh, wait, my rivet gun is on backorder, too. Figures I would decide to start a project like this during a global supply chain crisis. In the meantime, I am doing what I do best – making lists and wringing my hands. I guess no one will be able to accuse me of rushing into this project.

On a related note, my checkride for my pilot’s license is a week from today. I guess the waiting gives me more time to actually learn to fly the plane I am planning to build. Details, details. I cannot wait to come back to read this around this time next year when I am up to my ears in rivets and sheet metal.
